Stroller Rental at Walt Disney World

Today’s travel task was to rent a stroller for our trip to Walt Disney World.  At less than 50 days to go, we talk about this trip daily!  On our first trip with our daughter I wore her in a sling most of the time (NOTE: Bring your sling even if you have a stroller.  You will spend a lot of time in line and a sling makes it easy and comfortable to wait, especially with a young baby).

I wanted a stroller for the end of the day when we are exhausted from walking and simply cannot carry her anymore. I chose to rent a jogging stroller for our trip.  It was lightweight and also meant I could shed some of our airport weight by not bringing the enormous Graco stroller I used at home.

Orlando Stroller Rentals have great strollers.  I loved my jogging stroller so much that I bought one when I got home.

You can rent the Baby Jogger which is great because:

*Easy to fold up (you can do it with one hand)

*Lightweight (it weighed less than my daughter)

*Easy to maneuver (you can push it with one hand)

*folds up small (easy for the bus!)

I look forward to using the Citi Mini Double on our next trip.   The best part?  They deliver it right to my resort for me and it will be waiting when I arrive.

Disney Photoshop Tips: Adding Pixie Dust

Do you literally need some pixie dust in your photos?  These Photoshop Brushes can be downloaded for free from here and can make any picture magical.  I used Glitter II, Fairy Wings, and Pixies to create this photo of my daughter.   Not only do I love how this looks, but I think that this picture also captures the essence of my 2 ½ year old at this time in her life.  She believes in fairies and magic and thinks that pixie dust is real.

Izzy - Jake and the Neverland Pirates Dress Up

My daughter loves Jake & the Neverland Pirates.  A few days ago she wanted to dress up like Izzy.  I thought that this was a pretty good version of her costume that we pulled together with things we already owned.  I made her a little pixie dust bag out of felt to complete the look.  I should have given her pigtails, but didn't think about until after.  Plus, she doesn't stand still long enough for pigtails!  I had to improvise on her bandana.  Luckily, I have some Rapunzel fabric that matched okay!

Our Mickey Day

Last week was just too much.  Too much whining, too much poop, too much not napping, too much grumpy, too much stress, just too much of all of it.  Friday we woke up and I knew I had to get the family out of our funk.  What is more anti-funk than a Mickey day?

How to Have Your Own Mickey Day

(1) Wear your Mickey clothes
(2) Have cupcakes you decorate yourself
(3) Use your Mickey punches to make Mickey faces and give the kids glue sticks for their art time (top center)
(4) Go buy some Mickey garden art (your local Meijer has a crazy selection)
(5) Read any Disney books you have
(6) Watch your free WDW vacation DVD

This day was a huge success, or, as Emily would say, "This Mickey day is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

51 Days

Only 51 days until we leave for Walt Disney World or "Mickey's House" as it is known by my children.  51 days.  That is at least 50 days too many.  We spend many hours thinking about this upcoming trip, talking about it after the end of a long "mom" day.  It seems too long to wait.

It will be Elizabeth's first trip.

It will be Emily's third trip.

It will be the celebration of a marriage for my sister-in-law.

We are attending a DISNEY WEDDING!

This is where you can read all about it.  The planning, the travel, the events, the wishing, hoping, thinking, praying, saving, and the making through each day just to be there again.

This journey will be good for me and you.  Thanks for sharing it with me.
